10 THINGS YOU’RE DOING WRONG THAT KEEPS YOUR HOUSE MESSY

Lately, I’ve been looking deeply into this situation that keeps popping up in homes. This issue of homes being messy and moms and dads complaining that there’s is just no way they can fix it. Most times the main excuses are we have kids to take care of or, I have to work.

As a single parent, I can easily say these are just excuses. It was a bit difficult for me to find the title for this article as the word organization could fit in easily.

That is clearly so, but it’s not your home that needs organizing it’s actually you. You see, we get it wrong when we say our homes need to be organized, or maybe I should hire someone to organize it for me. Sounds great if you have the funds to do that, but eventually it will go back to where it was before.

I am about to show you what you’re doing wrong why your home is still messy. I will have you take a look at how to get yourself organize, so your home can be too. Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent, working parent, have toddlers running around,  or any other reasons you may have, your home can still be tidy and neat all the time.

1. SET YOUR TIMING

Setting your timing simply means having a set time to begin your day. The earlier the better it will be for you to stay ahead. Waking up at any hour of the day will only cause a backlog of household chores. Even if you have to go to work timing is still important. Before going to bed start planning for the next morning. Set a time for breakfast, a time for a shower, etc, and follow that routine.

2.GETTING CHORES DONE BEFORE GOING TO WORK

Yes, this is possible. Here are some examples, toss the clothes in the washer before going to bed. Place the dirty dishes in the dishwasher also before going to bed. In the morning these will be done so simply transfer the clothes to the washer and quickly unpack the dishwasher. If you wake up half an hour earlier you can even get a little vacuuming done.

3.WHY IS MY BEDROOM AWAYS MESSY

Your room is always messy because you never place things back in their place. As my Grandmother would say “rightful place”. Do you have clothes on the ground? Do you leave your bed unmade in the mornings? Here’s something to remember, if your bed is not made your room will appear to be messy.

Solving this problem is simple, as you get out of bed quickly pull the sheets back in place. Minimalize your room. Avoid having too many items in your room. Make use of your closet so your room can have more space. Extra tip… Use sheets that are easy to handle. When on a busy schedule cut back on the amount of bed linen you use on your bed.

4.I WANT TO WATCH MY FAVORITE TV SHOW

The cry of most women. Hey, I must admit, these tv shows are entertaining, but if you’re a stay-at-home parent this is what you need to do. Multi-task, meanwhile you’re watching your show have dinner going.

Take the washed clothes from the dryer and fold them right there where you are on the sofa. Another thing that’s time-consuming is texting. Have your friends and family video call or simply call you. This way you can talk while folding the clothes and watching your tv show all at the same time.

5.I CAN’T GET THINGS DONE BECAUSE OF THE KIDS

OKAY, so there are children in the home. Do you carry them around in your hands every second of the day? Kids in the home are not really an excuse for your home to be messy. Set a play area in the home for the kids.

Have a sleep time for the kids. One old trick is to bathe them feed them, and put them to bed. That really works, another thing you can do is to have them in your view while you’re getting something done.

You may have to take what you’re doing close to them or take them close to you. Have your kids pick up their toys and place them where they belong. This will keep your floors free of objects while teaching your kids a little about cleaning up. Remember you’re in control of the kids and your home.

6.MY KITCHEN IS ALWAYS  A MESS

Clean as you go, that has saved my day countless times. I hate having a messy kitchen after cooking so here’s what I do. I utilize my kitchen sink a lot when cooking. As I go a long wiping the countertops frequently and placing the dirty dishes in the sink somehow keep the kitchen in one piece.

Keep your countertops clear, use your trash bin as you go along, quickly remove droplets on the floor. While you have all the pots on the stove, start cleaning up. At the end of dinner, your kitchen will not be a mess.

7.WHAT TIME OF THE DAY ARE YOU ENERGIZED?

Are you a morning or evening person? This is very important to know as it will help you to get up and get things done with ease. Figure out the time of the day you feel less stressed and relax. Take this opportunity to get the hard tasks out of the way. All along you could be getting your time of the day wrong which may be one of the causes your home is always messy.

8.BECOMING A NIGHT OWL

For me, a night owl person is one who works at night. When the house is quiet and everyone is in bed put on an earphone with your favorite hits and start getting things done around the home. You’ll find you have a better night’s sleep as your brain will not be thinking of what you have to do in the morning.

9.LOVE YOUR HOME

Loving your home means appreciating every little piece of it. Learning to see the beauty of every single piece of furniture, kitchen wares, even the walls of your home will change the mode. See everything in your home as a prized possession waiting for you to embrace it. You worked hard to pay your mortgage or your rent so let it show in the way you treat your home and by giving your home some love and attention.

10.CLEAN HOME BETTER ATTITUDE

I have come to realize that there is a link between your mood and your home. Waking up or walking in from work into a messy home can change the way you feel instantly. This can make you grumpy and quick to throw a tantrum. THE CHALLENGE… Here’s a challenge for you.

Imagine how you would want your home to look and feel. The flowers, wall decors, the clean ambiance. Bring this image to life by start putting it into reality. Turn your home into your haven a place where you relax, unwind and release stress, but in order to do this it has to be clean so don’t wait any longer to get started today.
